(NST) KUALA LUMPUR: Karpal Singh, member of parliament for Bukit Gelugor, said it was not he who had been disrespectful to sultans but Umno. Debating the royal address in Parliament yesterday, he said he did not understand why he had been labelled treasonous and seditious when in 1993 Umno led a constitutional amendment to clip the powers of rulers. Reiterating that he had not challenged the power of the Sultan of Perak as head of Islam and Malay customs, Kar-pal said he had only stated that the ruler had no right to direct the menteri besar to withdraw the transfer order given to state Religious Department director Datuk Jamry Sury. Source by Malaysian Today UMNO is a moronic mentality society who like to blame other people with the baseless accusation. I am absolutely agree with Mr. Karpal Singh about the matter above where he pointed out that King or Sultan doesn't have the right to eliminate someone from the goverment post and it was clearly mentioned in our sacred federal constitution. I support you Mr. Karpal Singh with your strong opinion on that matter. The Law and Federal Constitution will help the people of Malaysia and not the monarchy system. I am strongly believed that whatever we do we must abide the the federal constitution and law rather to listen from the monarchy society who are enjoying with the tax payer money to survive. Karpal Singh is the " Hero of the Day". |
